“All my childhood I lived a dual life—the life when I was being abused, and the life when I wasn’t. It dictated my very being. It was years of continuous abuse, years of pain, years of breach with not a single soul to reach out to. I bled from my anus often, and once did gather the courage to tell mom. And she thought it was because of the summer heat. I don’t blame her now. She was completely ignorant about the fact that male children are susceptible to sexual abuse and need to be protected.”

Yesterday, a few great people on twitter started this deepwish and it went so viral and so big that just a few hours were enough to collect Rs. 53,417 from more than 40 contributors and all due to the love and help from people on twitter. It was a small initiative by Anaggh, supported by b50 and went very well that people started joining in and announced their donations etc.

The complete list of contributors is here and everything that has been collected, will be forwarded to Goonj, a voice, an effort! People were still interested to donate more, but the counting procedure etc. everything was not easy, and the call was made at night itself, to end it with this appreciable amount counted by @b50 and @anaggh

Posting this through mobile, so short and informative message to my tweep friends.. My friends on twitter hate started a charity program where many guys have joined hands and every wish on twitter counts to Rs. 63.75 or more when more people join in..
The charity funds go to Goonj a girl child charity group. And twitter is a great way to spread the cause and raise the funds.

How can you help? Just tweet to us using the hashtag #deepwish and wish us for the diwali.. and that wish counts to charity. More than 475 wishes have already flowed in and that has been a great contribution from everyone and support from other tweeps.

Who said its Orkut, or Facebook or Yahoo Groups or somewhere else, where we create groups and enjoy? Its Twitter for me and my bunch of friends where with the limitation of 140-characters we maintain a gang and enjoy all the time.

Its DD = Desi Dilwale gang.. comprising of a group of people whose number is not always fixed as bade dilwale people can join in anytime!

There was a time when i used to just read the tweets from other people and see what they actually where doing on twitter, and why do they keep sharing things and updates with others online? But right now, i am doing the same! And not in a small way, but totally involving myself for almost the whole day on twitter.

I chat with friends i made there, and read tech news, share them with others, read and retweet others tweets, and keep making new friends! And twitter has become the first thing i got addicted to in my life. And believe me, its harder to come over this addiction than alcohol or drugs! You feel lonely when not tweeting or reading other’s tweets.

I have never tweeted so much in any month since i joined, that i did only during July 2009. This would be the month i won’t forget as I wrote my exams, and prepared for them along with tweeting all the time.
