Chetan Bhawani

One of the oldest blogging platforms, Blogger turned 11 yesterday. I’ve used it earlier but since I got a touch on wordpress, I’ve not used blogger since then. But, blogger is where I started out all this.. and so me, Amit Bhawani and the entire team of Digital World Solutions planned to organize the blogger’s meet on the eve of Blogger’s 11th anniversary. Named as the Blogger fiesta, it was more a networking meet than anything with a specific agenda.

The reason being the hard fact that Hyderabad has seen meetups being organized rarely, so we thought it would be good if we meet at least a few bloggers from this place, and this can make the bloggers get to know each other more. And everything went off well.

The meet started out at 7:15 p.m. at Ohris Jiva, which has been always famous for the delicious buffet sessions (but also been a reason yesterday for a few people to skip the event, who didn’t like it being just a vegetarian one! :p) where around 35 bloggers turned up out of the total 40 confirmed registrations. That did indicate to us how interested people were in, to meet each other, the only thing that lacked was the meetups. We were happy already that we took the chance to organize one!

Once the bloggers introduced themselves, the snacks kept them busy for sometime, and then Me and Varun organized a quiz where few goodies like T-shirts and gift vouchers were given away. Luckily we were out of questions, so this was made more an interactive quiz where the bloggers asked questions on their own. Thanks that it wasn’t an all-time-laugh session (I follow – Too much of something is boring), and the occasional laughs kept us on good spirits.

This was followed by the networking and dinner buffet, and yeah as expected the food was a delicacy! One of the best parts of organizing it there. But as everything has its own disadvantages, so this too had. It wasn’t made for a panel-talk or a conferencing thing. It was just a place to eat and meet, so we did. But the response we got from people, was inspiring and motivational enough for us to plan out something better and bigger next time.

Wrapped up at around 10 p.m. it was a short one, but was fun and a good experience. Organizing things is not so easy, unless there’s an entire team working on it.. and so thanks to the entire team of DWS i.e. Amit, Varun, Yogesh, Nagaraju, Jayesh and others who supported it.
