Yes, a twitter break! Finally!
Ok I might be sounding crazy.. or people might think I’m trying to gain attention (am not Chetan Bhagat, its Chetan Bhawani!), but I’m not gaining anything by doing this.. just would lose touch with my friends. Would be staying away from twitter for a few months. Might be till august, and if things around me ask me, that break would extend till the end of the year!
Yeah, for me, staying away from twitter would be similar to like going to a war on the battlefield. This would be more a challenge, than a decision taken by me.
Why?
From the past few months, I have been using twitter to the fullest. Made friends, everyday. yes, Everyday! Every person I met on twitter, was good and sweet enough to make me smile and be happy. But, all this has made me forget that I have an offline life too, which is awaiting for me to set things right and have a settled future ahead.. Am in the final year of my dentistry, and just a few months left for the final exams. And I have been so much into online life, and friendship.. that studies was somewhere out of my mind.
My relationships with people I met on twitter, have become so strong (at least from my side) that someone’s depression was a hard time for me too, and the happiness in them, used to make me happy too. Once I login into twitter, the mixed emotions, tweets and updates instanly make me get involved into everything and I don’t realize how much time is gone in doing all this.. Seriously, this year has been very poor if you look into my studies, attendance etc. I want to change that, at least for the time ahead.
Tried to reduce the frequency of tweets – Failed! << Why?? You would agree with this.. when one tries to stay away from twitter, they would surely try to sneak in a few times to see what’s going on, and who all mentioned about them. If not others, at least I used to do that.
I don’t want to repeat that, and just want to seriously stay away from twitter! just Twitter.. would be coming on facebook, gtalk and other online homes of mine, like this blog etc. but won’t sneak in like I used to do. Will keep blogging as I used to do, also would update twitter just with this blog post link for those people who still might be wondering if I’m around there.
My college and studies are the only main reasons for my decision right now, or else I would have never chose to stay away from the most beautiful place I found online. Facebook, Orkut are not as good as twitter.. I met the best people on twitter, and most of them personally too. But it has been the most time-consuming part of my life for quite some time.
Am staying away for a reason, still if you have something to say, share or want to contact me.. am almost everywhere!
- Those 850+ people on twitter whom I follow, can DM me and those dms would reach my SMS inbox, will try to respond back.

Will miss tweeting, but that’s the biggest thing I can do to become more regular, and get better in studies.

You will be missed, for sure. I, for one, will definitely miss you. Having said that, I completely understand your decision. Such stands are not easy, especially when one is so passionate about it. You are aware I have myself taken that decision and now stay away from Twitter for long stretches. And when I do come, it’s only for short bursts. I still love Twitter – will always love it. I had made for too many precious friends that I won’t dump; friends have always meant the world to me.
Like you, I have made myself available via DM, Facebook, email, phone etc…
I wish you all the very best in your studies and hope to see you coming out in flying colors. And, yes, I will surely keep in touch with you.
