Telangana bandh today – 30th December 2009
What an end of the year we are coming to. Fights, sex scandals, politics, bomb blasts, injustice to people and much more. This has been the month of December in India and its still not done. Today on 30th December 2009, its a Telangana bandh in support for a separate state.
As I go out of my house here in Hyderabad, i see tents laid by Army jawans and para-military groups who are ready to tackle and stop riots that can occur today. Is this what Hyderabad, one of the best cities in India has to see in the end of the year?
And not just that, around 165 suburban and local trains have been canceled for today and reports are that The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has also suspended the services, which will bring all the transport to a halt.
Telangana Chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao said,
“The Centre should immediately come forward and find a solution. We demand that it sticks to its earlier statement. We are not ready to accept any committees. Except wasting time, these committees serve no purpose,” “The patience of Telangana people need not be tested unnecessarily. If Delhi wants to discuss with anyone that is okay. Both regions are ready to come. We have that much patience. We have experts and people with wisdom. We will discuss in Joint Action Committee (JAC) and send our representatives.”
I hope either Telangana party people, or else the central government comes out with some good result that can show relief in the faces of normal people who are suffering due to these riots, bandhs and everything going around in Andhra Pradesh.
