The year has nearly come to an end, with just a week more left.. but I still have to end my movie-watching spree with “3 Idiots” that’s going to be released tomorrow. Who knows, it can be on the top of the list for me.. but anyways as am writing the list, its not included. And i didn’t watch Paa too, so could not include in the list.

Here goes my list of best and worst bollywood movies of 2009 -

The best of 2009 -

1. Wake up Sid – Well laid-out but stretched movie, good songs and story. Well directed with nice punches in middle. For the director, its a good debut. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy music rocks as always, some beats bringing Dil Chahta Hai into my mind.

2. Delhi 6 – One of the best movies of the year. I forgot(dumbest thing to do) to include this in the list initially, until someone pointed out. Sonam Kapoor, so charming and Abhishek Bachchan was too cool. The pair did the best and the story too came with a message, worth giving this position to the movie.

3. Luck by Chance – A cool one by Farhan Akhtar, Konkona Sen Sharma. Many other celebs with their guest roles in it, and a Page-3 feel was interesting enough movie, portraying a life of people struggling in the film industry to settle in it, and the clashes they face etc.

4. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani – Katrina was awesome the whole year, and continued this in Ajab Prem Ki.. too. Both Ranbir and Katrina did the best roles and had already good form from the previous movies. A 3.5/5 for making people laugh!

5. New York – Movie was pretty good although John Abraham did not give his best, Katrina Kaif, Neil Mukesh, Irrfan Khan all the 3 were awesome. Terrorism, i.e. the WTC attacks being one of the best topics for movies was shown well, and songs were awesome!

6. Love Aaj Kal – Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone.. long distance relationships. Setting up of career and the side-running love and relationship. A good combination of the lead pair.

7. Kurbaan – Another terrorism based movie, and the hot pair Kareena and Saif with a romantic action chipped in with the side roles of Om Puri and Kiron Kher, Vivek Oberoi etc. was perfect set. But terrorism was already portrayed in New York movie and was enough already.

8. Raaz – The Mystery Continues – Now don’t ask me why i included this into the list. Couldn’t find anything better and still, the songs were awesome. Kangana Ranaut was fantastic. And movies where Emraan doesn’t die in the end, won’t have a good climax! So the same in Raaz 2. Still, this movie was better than many others in 2009.

The Worst of 2009 -

Won’t mention why i didn’t like it. There are many reasons for each movie, so let it be just as a static list without any reason mentioned. Especially for Kaminey, which was liked by most but still is in my list of Worst movies, because i didn’t like it. My choice.
