A small pup and its life

This was what i learned in Pedodontics(dentistry in children), that when a mother gives birth to multiple children, the care and love is distributed and ignorance dominates affection. The same i have seen since the past few days, not in humans, but in dogs too.

A very weak female stray dog gave birth to 7 pups, 3 weeks back and has not been keeping well, so feeding the puppies was also not so regular. Taking care of dogs is not encouraged here in my hostel, as they don’t like dogs coming near to them, waving their tails expecting something, and many more reasons. But guys, humanity is not just helping humans. Its about helping any life, may that be any animal.

So yesterday evening, I was sitting in my room when my friend called me to the ground where he was holding this small 3-week old puppy badly injured at the nose and mouth region. It just met with a car accident, which did not hit too hard but was hard enough considering the age of the pup. The bleeding was through nose so controlling it was very hard, the pup being in pain and not co-operating. Didn’t realize i was in tears already, seeing all this :| Anyways we took cotton packs and tried to clean the bleeding area, to see all cuts and bruises. Red bubbles from nose were making it hard for the pup to breathe. It was literally respiring through its mouth, producing the wheezing sound.

Asked on twitter for help, many many awesome tweeps replied with various ways, but the actual situation was totally far from that -
Its Nizamabad where there is no govt. vet hospital, and Section-144 due to the political fights, apart from that we don’t have the permission to use the college resources, unless its some human suffering. The only way to try to save the pup was showing love and affection, apart from control the bleeding.

Did all the ways to control bleeding, and then gave him some milk mixed with glucose and sugar. It had become so weak, was falling on one side every few minutes, and i didn’t want to see it die after all.
At night, we went down to shift it to my room and it was the first time it lifted its head and saw towards me, the innocent eyes needed some love and care, and its mother wasn’t around. I could do nothing but just take it with me and keep it warm under a blanket.

At around 4 a.m. in the morning, i woke up with the barks and sounds it was making, running around in the room. I know it was hungry, needed some attention and food, but i was happy that it was back into near normal health, not sitting at a single place. I went near to it, and it started making small moaning sounds, i rushed down with it to its mother, who can do the final job by feeding it. It was the most happiest time, as the pup had very little chances to survive, but the love and support saved it, gave it another life.

Thanks to all my friends, the docs and vets, animal lovers online who gave me so many ways to help it survive, and to GOD for giving it chance to live another life.
