New York Hindi movie review

New York.. the name and the promos, posters etc. did make think that it might be something related to the 9/11 attack in the US. And yes it was..

As am in Ahmedabad(still the Gujarat Trip), went with cousins to the movie at Fun Republic, and i actually liked the movie although many said they didn’t. My rating for the movie would be 3.5/5 (Not too high due to the copied music by Pritam, foul language was used, which i never like. Not too low because i liked the acting by all the 3 lead roles, and story was pretty good with a message).

The movie is about a normal person becoming a terrorist only because he was suspected as a terrorist behind the 9/11 attack in U.S. and was sent for detention and tortured like the 1200 other people, none of them being involved in the attack. Sameer/Sam(John Abraham) was the one tortured and then after being released from the jail, he took the other way to fight against FBI who were responsible for all this. He runs a sleeper cell with a group of people.

His old friend Omar(Neil Nitin Mukesh) doesn’t believe that when police tells him about this, and they then seek his help to destroy the network being run by Sam. Maya(Katrina Kaif), marries Sam and she slowly finds out that Sam runs a Sleeper cell. But she keeps silent.

This is just half of it, but I would suggest you to watch the whole movie if you want to know the entire story, and its worth watching if you like to see your favorite stars acting to the best, though direction is not so appreciable.
According to many friends, the story sucks, but if you want to bring some message in front of people, the story had to be in that way.
The final message was good, and so liked the story too.

And for real too, there were 1200 innocent people who were taken into custody after the 9/11 attack and were physically, mentally tortured and released after around 3 years due to lack of evidences. These people have lost most of the happiness in their lives, and are not able to concentrate on anything(their job too!), and that was when George Bush was the president. He said that the country doesn’t ever use the word Torture, but that’s what they did with 1200 innocent people.
