How to deactivate Idea Dialer Tone/Caller Tune
My mother uses Idea Prepaid cellular service and the service Sucks! Really! What we call as Spam on the internet, Idea is the spammer for mobile phones. She receives around 10 SMSes from Idea regarding their products and services, which no one is interested in. And the next issue with them, is the Customer service.
They never talk to people, are they really busy or they actually don’t have much people to engage with the customers? Unknowingly the Dialer Tone service got activated without our confirmation and around Rs 40 was being cut every month, and the song was some Telugu weird old song which no one would like to hear when they call my mom. So i tried many times connecting to their customer service, but always failed. But finally, one of my friends helped me out with it.
Deactivating the Dialer Tone was too easy..
Sms DTDEACT to 55456 and you are done. You would be getting an SMS that its deactivated within an hour. But never expect to do that through the Customer care service, as you would never be connected. Airtel is way better than Idea when talking about the customer service.

Another easier n simpler way to do it is reach a distributor point n ask them to deact any service thru dealer desk. Also, the site lists ways to deact all services. To stop recieving msgs n promo calls, msg Start DND to 1909

this code was working for me first but not working now!
My mobile No.9881267868, facility of dialor tone is provided me and subsequently a certain amount is being debited to my account blance. I have requested by sending SMS to 55456 to deactivate this dialor tone facility immediately but still the same is discontinued. it is request to discontinue the said facility immediately.
Further reply received that Invalid key send keyword to 55456 on 21/May/2009. Iam aware about keyword please provide the same so that I can get relief from your dialor tone facility.

If you are facing problem to deactivate the Dialer Tone from Idea number please try below given options:
1) DT DEACT –> 55456 @ 3/- Pre Msg. ( Service will be deactivated in 24 hrs)
or
2) DEACTDT –> 12345 @ Toll Free ( Service will be deactivated in 24 hrs)
or

and at last if you don’t want to recevie any Promonation calls/sms from Idea then send a message

First I sent sms DTDEACT to 55456. Received reply from them that it is an invalid key. Then again sent sms DT DEACT to 55456. Now received reply that my DT was valid for 2 days for which I have already paid, still if I wanted to deactivate DT then send sms DT Y. Finally I sent sms DT Y to 55456 and DT was deactivated within 24 hours.

Also would like to add that as per TRAI Guide line Every Telecom Service provider has to take Request from Call Center to deactivate any of the VAS Service .. They Can’t refuse to take Request so if you still facing any Problem to deactivate the service please call on Customer Care and Say that Take my Request for Deactivation of Dailer Tune i don’t want to take any SMS or Call Process they will still try to send you back with some Calling number or SMS number… what all you have to do is stick on your point that I want my Dailer to be deactivated from customer care it self.

Unkowingly my mother got a message from 55456 on 15/11/2009 that her dialer tone has been successfully renewed and her balance has been reduced by Rs 30 . Can u please tell what is the meaning of the word ‘ renew ‘ . Renewal comes if there would have already activated somthing on your cell . However there is no activation of any scheme on my mother’s cell No 9702143078 before this . Hence there is no question of renewal . I just want to ask u whether Idea enterpreneur has started any new scheme in order to cheat customer .
My request is to deactivate this dialer tone scheme on my mother’s cell no 9702143078 and reimburse the money so deducted .
If u have any query u can mail me and don’t call on my mother’s cell as she won’t be able to answer u .
