Wordcamp India was a nice experience

Wordcamp India which i attended on Feb 21st and Feb 22nd 2009 was an awesome experience hearing to people like Matt Mullenweg and Om Malik, and meeting friends like Abhishek Bhatnagar, Abhijeet Mukherjee, Abhinav Gulyani, Shashank, Ashish Gupta, Rohit Khurana, Manav Mishra, Inderjeet Singh, Mohit Mehta, Aditya Mukherjee and few others whom i met for the first time.
I had already met Mayank Gupta in Chennai Searchcamp earlier and he’s a cool guy, and he was one of the organizers so it was not hard for me to get into the registration although i was already late ;)

As i said, Matt Mullenweg and Wordcamp have been great for me, and i enjoyed more than what I expected there. There are a few things why i liked it -

  • Meeting Matt Mullenweg!
  • Meeting all the friends with whom i talk to, on Twitter and never met them personally.
  • Listening to Pavan Duggal, advocate from Supreme court of India who talked some things that were pretty strong and well explained, about Copyrighting rules.
  • Learning about Adsense from Amit Agarwal.
  • Going to New Delhi, as i had not been there for years and its good to visit there again.

So overall i loved to be there, and would now try to attend all the blogging camps in India whenever i find time. And that’s all about it.
Thanks for organizing the event, it was good for people to meet. And from there, i also could discover that people actually read my blogs :p

  1. Nice event and good begining. Cyber law and IPR issues, especially copyright issues in cyberspace, are very important. Fortunately, lot of good studies have been done in this regard in India that would shape the future of Indian laws. One such study can be acvessed at http://tradeintelligence.blogspot.com/2008/03/intellectual-property-rights-in-digital.html. However, the matter does not ends here. In future India would also consider the digital rights protection and management issues as well as mentioned at http://iprsinindia.googlepages.com/digitalrightsmanagementinindia.
