LK Advani – The Indian Barack Obama?
LK Advani, the forgotten man after rise of Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Congress, is asking people for support. And he is following the footsteps of U.S. president Barack Obama to gain support among people and nothing more than the web can be a big marketing tool for him and his party.
Barack Obama joined twitter and has still got the highest number of followers ever in the site, and his blog at Barackobama.com had been 2 great resources for him which could make his hold stronger on the web, and the number of people who used to follow him on the web, would obviously market him through word-of-mouth media all over America. And that was the main reason for him to become the American President.
And now coming to LK Advani, he is trying to catch the attention of the Indian mass through web media, and I have lately seen many ads through Adwords etc. where he is advertising and also he is regularly blogging through his blog.lkadvani.in and trying to gain the power.

One thing Advani and his marketing team has to remember, India does not have so many users who browse the web, when compared to the U.S. people where most of the things are done on the web and there are actual supporters for politics on the web. In fact, Twitter had placed an elections bar on the top prior to the elections when the candidates were still on promotions. And as Obama had used Twitter to gain support, ultimate result was clear.
Can Advani gain similar support from Indian people who browse the web?

I haven’t read your post, but answer to your post title is a BIG NO!
I have one thing to say to MR. Advani – this is not US, India is Different so these things will not work here.
Well those who want to vote for him, will vote for him. Those who dont want to,and if they see him/his ads onlin, some will probably change the team. ofcourse whatever extra efforts you make, will give some output but dont expect an Obama! That man won because of himself!
lol@ Harshad I too thought the same, but then i thought of first reading it. Just for the title:a big no!
I dont think this strategy is going to work in India
lets find our indian obama on http://www.indianobama.org. Where you can not only vote for the leader you like but also get to read his profile and work done. Leave positive or negative comments on your leader
