India wins the 1st Twenty20 against Sri Lanka
What a perfect match it was. A match which i thought in the middle that India is almost losing, came back to India’s side and ended with India winning, was only due to the great performance in the end by the Pathan brothers, Yusuf hitting 22(10) and Irfan 33(16) both are the only reason for India getting back into the match finally with a victory.
In the mid-way of the chase, India lost wickets in quick succession and India were on 115 for 7 with more than 9 runs an over required. These two brothers then came in, and added 59 runs from 25 balls with the added support of Sri Lankan poor fielding effort that led to smiles on Indian spectators’ faces.
There were no less efforts from Sanath Jayasuriya, and Bandara along with the captain Dilshan but still the entire team work was not put into the game, and India took full advantage of this.
At the point when we were 115-7, i saw Yusuf still on the ground and had just a small hope in my heart, but when both of them were going slowly ahead, i thought we would not be able to make it, as the asking rate went above 10.5 per over. But then the rain of runs from them turned over everything.
India winning this game, proved that they are still the Defending champions in the Twenty20 form of the game of Cricket. And when talking about Captain MS Dhoni, he’s a lucky person and the cool captain who is still leading a successful Indian team.
