Making money with twitter – Bad idea
Twitter has been a big tool to make money directly or indirectly by just promoting the stuff you are related to, but in my honest opinion, it should not be used as a good platform to make money. This thinking of making money would just make twitter another myspace which limits the number of characters to post in!
Although the limitation of 140 characters, users are becoming so much creative that this limitation is enough for them to make good and productive tweets which can create good buzz and make money indirectly.
I had both types of opinions about Money making with Twitter – Positive and Negative.
When new to twitter, I too had thought that when big brands are making thousands through a single Twitter account, then why can’t I?
But its not that easy as you think and imagine.
Later, i felt its just good if you post something in your blog, you can share that and a few of your friends on twitter might like reading that and sharing the same. But twitter should not totally be used just to make money.
Presently, i am just not into money making at Twitter and am against it, as it changes the way twitter would be used by people in the near future. People would forget writing what they are doing, what they are eating, what they like, dislike etc. but every tweet would have something related to money making and affiliate, and promotional tweets which make money for the one who tweet it.
I can’t blame anyone if they share their blog posts, as that is something what can come into the “What are you doing?” category. But some accounts are specially set for people to make money, directly by posting offers or indirectly and this is what i don’t encourage.
As a matter of fact, Twitter Power book which is going to be soon launched by Joel Comm, is something about Marketing in twitter, indicating that Twitter is slowly becoming a perfect marketing tool, and is on the way to turn into Myspace, the ultimate spammer tool. I have a few bad feelings about that book, because its not Joel who is making money on twitter with it, but he is doing the same by changing the way twitter usage should be.
People who are on twitter seriously for fun and networking with other bloggers etc., you would support me in this topic but if not, please explain me why. I might be changing my mind in future if you have some perfect points to oppose my opinions.

Yes, I completely agree with you Chetan. Twitter can be used as marketing tool, but if we start using it as a money making tool then it will be the most annoying social networking place for all tweeps.
great information chetan but i disagree with that all the members in twitter are not online marketers but most of the myspace users are online marketers
