It should be against Barkha Dutt
Barkha Dutt, the Padmasree award winner Journalist(AND WHO REALLY DOES NOT DESERVE THAT), did show her power by making the blogger ckunte withdraw his post against her. But she should keep the power with herself. When she has the right to speak openly in the news channel, why can’t bloggers talk with their opinions on the blogs?
If sharing your opinions on blogs is not a good thing, then its just monopoly for the news channels and reporters, who would be showing unlimited news and stuff whole of the day, more than half of which might be false ones, but people would be forced to believe that too.
As vmohanty said, you could arm-twist ckunte but how many can you when every blogger would be against you?
Barkha and NDTV have the power to suppress someone’s right to share opinions, but don’t try to implement the power where you don’t need to.
A comment in vmohanty’s blog post said correctly that -
I think the Press Council should step in and take action against media members threatening another member of the media. ( I consider a blogger also as a member of the media).
Its shocking to see that the freedom of speech and opinion sharing for bloggers is being taken away by the media people who just keep craving for some kind of topics which can keep them always in mind of viewers.
Its so pathetic and bad, what Barkha Dutt and NDTV did against ckunte. Its me, one of those thousands of bloggers who can share their opinions in their blogs, and you can’t run to each of them and stop them from talking. Got it Ms. Dutt?
