Don’t like TwitBlogs, Chetanbhawani.com is better than that!

Seriously, people said Twitblogs is a good service for people who don’t like the 140 character limit in twitter, and also don’t want to have very big blog posts. But people, why is a personal blog there for?

Its also not an integrated part of twitter, its a 3rd party site where you are sharing your login information with them and also if people have to read what you write, then they have to go to the site and read. Why not do the same to your personal blog and make people know about you and your blog more?

So i decided to stick with my personal blog chetanbhawani.com for any small or big miscellaneous ramblings than going for free services, or twitblogs etc. How many disagree with me?

  1. If you really like twitter why not add its widget on your blog’s sidebar?

  2. Its waste of adding the widget actually.. i don’t want to pull in more followers. I am there just for fun in twitter, and very small amount of promotion of my blogs :)

And the speed of blog loading also gets reduced to some extent with the widget in my blog.

  3. Hi Chetan

Thanks for considering Twitblogs and talking about us. Absolutely if Twitblogs is not for you then by all means you shouldn’t use it (of course).

That being said we find many many people are finding it useful and I thought I would list a few of them for you and your readers.

    1. They don’t have a blog and don’t care to have one, they are purely until that moment Twitter users and not bloggers.
    2. They want a place to load in images, video, and sound e.g. Pownce did this and had hundreds of thousands of users that loved that feature.
    3. Research some probloggers have locked onto the idea that a ‘mini-blog’ is a great place to gather information from their chatty Twitter user-base. I liked this one as a “old-school” blogger loads myself.
    4. Our site is basic and its easy to learn and use if you know Twitter, plus there is the whole more than 140 characters and commenting which kinda rocks.
    5. We drug our Kool-Aid… :)

We have some cool stuff in the pipeline too that may attract more guys like you, you may be surprised.

    Have a happy new years!

  4. Hi Roger,

Loved the way you track every blog post about Twitblogs and try to explain what you are providing to the users. Good dedication.

What you said is not at all wrong, but that should be for someone who does not have a blog for personal and miscellaneous use. I have one, so felt that twitblogs is not for me :)

That’s just my opinion which i shared. Nothing offensive against Twitblogs ;)
    Good luck with it.

PS. I do like your blog by the way, very clean lines and that is completely my favourite style.
